    Default Support Chloro

    Hey all,

First of all sorry for another Chloro related thread but i would really like some advice from you all if possible So i've been pretty much experimenting different classes until now to see what suits me best for my main char, and i've been really having a lot of fun with my Chloro/Dom specced mage. The thing is i can't really get a grasp on what role i should be fitting in.. I'm still only level 21 and did some IT runs, some pvp and closed some rifts.. Yet when loooking for a grp for IT for example i can't really decide on whether i should claim a dps/support spot or the healer's one. I did run as both and all went fine, but it feels like (and i probably am wrong) the class may come a bit short later on to main heal, and doesn't dps enough to fill a dps spot although it makes the main healer's job a lot easier.

So i was hoping some advice on this issue: is the Chloromancer a capable main healer in 5 man dungeons later on? Is it ok to claim a dps spot for support or does it hold the goup back DPS-wise?

I think what i would prefer would be to support the healer, and bring utility to the group while doing enough dps to not hold the team back. Any help on the best way to achieve this would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

Yes chloro can main heal 5 mans. For that you want warlock or archon. Personally, I prefer warlock for a pure healing role.

Dom however is more of a pvp spec, and some of your abilites won't work well in a group... a.k.a. storm shackle, chastise, lament, wrench, void, even squirrel has very limited use. Basically, all the good stuff.

If you want to play more of a support role with dps, I would recommend Archon/Chloro. With that you can provide some good dps, lots of group buffs, and still help with healing.

Dom is MADE for pvp, even the 31 point ability is pvp only.

If you're going to go main healer, you really should be chloro/lock or chloro/archon, whichever you prefer.

If you want to be support and not main heal, you probably want to have some kind of aoe dps role for helping clear trash (such as pyro, or sc/ele), and then switch over to a chloro/archon role for bosses for off-heals/buffs/debuffs.

Ok thanks guys for the replies, i think i will try archon/chloro then as a main spec for support/dps and keep a side chloro spec to try and main heal ocasionally. Cheers

I've healed 5 mans solo no problem up to level 44 with full chloro/5ele/0dom. I just hit 44 and I imagine the 44 ability will just make it all that much easier. Its rare I use the transmorg in PvE though, tanks always want to grab everything and unless the tank lets you cc pull it'll just get hit by someone careless.

I've been the main healer for some expert runs and I have also run as a 'support'. I used the same Chloro/Lock/Dom build for both. Most expert runs I've seen usually go for 1 Tank/1 Healer/1 Support/2 DPS, so I'd say no I don't think it holds the group back. We did fine on all the runs I've done.

o_O. Sorry Steve, but someone fell off the useless tree and hit every branch on the way down .
