    Default Druid Updates on PTS!

    Clerics,

The Druid soul is undergoing a rework and the changes are now on PTS. This rework is aimed at making the Druid viable dps option for most PvE content including raids. You should note that the work on PTS reflects most of the functionality changes but not final dps tuning.

First off, druids have lost a number of toggled or 1hr duration buffs to make room for other abilities. The loss of these abilities has been compensated for by increases to passive talents attained at similar levels to the old ability.

Secondly druids have received three related new abilities: Natural Force, Nature’s Censure, and Nature’s Edict.

Natural force is a passive ability unlocked after spending 36 points in the soul. Natural force causes a stacking debuff to be placed on the target of Essence Strike, Fervent Strike, and Resounding Strike. This debuff stacks up to 5 times.

Nature's Censure, also unlocked at level 36, is a melee range attack that removes all stacks of the Natural Force debuff from the target and does extra damage per stack consumed.

Nature's Edict is a melee range attack that unlocks at level 44. It also removes all stacks of the Natural Force debuff and replaces them with an equal number of stacks of the Nature's Weakness debuff. Nature's Weakness increases all of the druid's damage dealt to the target.

Optimal play will involve maintaining a large stack of Nature's Weakness on the target while consuming as few Natural Force debuff charges to do so, while at the same time consuming as many Natural Force debuffs as possible to increase the damage of Nature's Censure.

Lastly, and perhaps the most important change of all, Druids receive a new 58 point ability, Conduit of Nature, that causes your currently summoned creature to become unable to fight and to instead provide a powerful buff to one aspect of your abilities.

Here's a breakdown of all the ability changes:

The Druid soul has gained the following abilities:
Fast Summon – New level 28 root ability. Causes the next cleric pet summons to be cast instantly.
Natural Force – New level 36 root ability (passive) – Fervent Strike, Resounding Blow, and Essence Strike add a stack of Nature's Force with most melee abilities
Nature's Censure – New level 36 passive - melee damage; consumes stacks of Nature's Force for extra damage
Nature's Edict – New level 36 root ability - melee damage; consumes stacks of Nature's Force - replaces each stack of Nature's Force consumed with a stack of Nature's Weakness; Nature's Weakness increases all damage done by the druid per stack.
Conduit of Nature - New level 58 root ability - Your pet become an natural foci, providing you a buff and no longer attacking. Each petprovides a unique buff. Can only be cast if you currently have a pet out. Dismissing your pet will remove this buff.
    • Greater Satyr Destroyer - your damage increased by 20%
    • Greater Satyr Protector - you take 20% less damage
    • Healer - healing you receive is increased by 30%
    • Seer - Cooldowns reduced by 15%.

The following abilities have been removed from the Druid:
Fury of the Fae (level 28 root ability)
Aid of the Forest (level 36 root ability)
Spirit of Upheaval (level 44 root ability)
Spirit of Asphodel (level 50 root ability)
    Subtlety (level 57 root ability)

    Additional Changes:
    Savage Force – now increases damage by 5% / 10% / 15% (up from 3% / 6% / 9%)
    Life Touched – now increases spellpower by 5% / 10% (up from 3% / 6%)
Peace of the Forest – now returns 20% mana (up from 7%); still consumes 7% of the druid’s health

the last time i played druid the rotation didn't come close to lining up properly at all, is anything going to be done to address this? it's really pretty terrible to play in it's current state imo.

First : omgomgomgomgomgomg. finally. ty so much. IT'S HERE, IT'S FINALLY HERE!

    Now onto feedback;

3 major issues at first glance.

    1. Druid needs 1sec gcd. Please, please make this happen. Melee souls should not operate on the 1.5 sec GCD, it is just way too slow.

    2. Conduit of power feels very underwhelming. I can't think of any situation where I would want/need 20% damage reduction, or the healing. And it's not like you can change pets on the fly, not with a 1.5 sec GCD. As for the damage increase, it will either be a dps gain, in which case it will always be on, or it will be a dps loss, in which case it will never be turned on. Also, it makes 3 buffs absolutely useless when it's turned on. I like the concept, I.E having your pet be a moving buff, but the benefits are very lackluster currently. Elementalist get a rather unique choice, they can get a spellpower increase, or they can make all of their spells instant cast, this causes thought to be put into what buff they actually want. I don't see druids making those same decisions.

    3. Nature's censure doesn't do enough damage. As it is will never be used, it could just be a numbers issue though. But it just does way too low damage currently. It won't even be on the hotbar since you will always want to keep natural weakness buff up. That's such a huge debuff that it's basically the #1 priority. Also, back to issue #1, with the 1.5 sec GCD, it's the other main reason Nature's censure will never be used. Makes druid too slow to even consider a chance for natural weakness to fall off.

These are just the first issues I see right off the bat. Again, I greatly appreciate the rework, finally, but I also feel that it's pretty underwhelming. It has extremely good burst though with fae mimicry + punishing strike + Massive blow. That's the part I like most atm. I was able to get MB to hit for 170k with all the debuffs up, which is crazyyyyy lol.

However consider in order to get max stacks of natural weakness, you need 11.5 secs, way too long of a build up imo. You also cannot rotate between max stacks of natural weakness, and max stacks of natural force to consume for nature's censure. Also, this makes target switching absolutely crush druid dps. Relying so heavily on a debuff that takes such a long time to get going all the while being stuck with a 1.5 sec GCD.

I will be testing the soul more, and will provide further feedback later.

I don't like the Conduit of Power skill. It just turns your pet into a self buff you forget about. I'd like to see a pet where we need to disable the auto casts and manage the pet's skills along with our own in order to get max dps. It would give advanced players something to do in the 1.5s gcd since you would pretty much have 2 different 1.5s gcds. You would probably need to disable pet auto attacks for that to work and probably want ranged pets to avoid headaches.

You do not need to get 5 stacks of Natural Force each time to refresh Natural Weakness- just one. Each time you cast Nature's Edict it will add, not replace, stacks of Natural Weakness to the stacks already on the target. Casting Nature's Censure should be a dps gain.

Well this breaks my Druid IA build though with the healing pet buff to incoming heals it might still work out, just not as well...

I'm still waiting on a new tanking soul.

Evil Cleric tanking soul based on Vampirism which places dots on enemies which also heal the cleric at the same time while generating aggro. Make it synergise with Cabalist and Defiler. give it cooldowns which work of off a blood counter you get from siphoning via your dots and some attacks.

    -NIGHT WALKER-

Blood Vial- a third resource used to power the vampire tank's special abilities.1-100

Blood Siphon- A stacking dot which deals (insert damage value-insert damage value) over 15 seconds, healing the tank for a % of the damage done which increases by 2% per stack, Max of 10 stacks, Damage done to targets of Blood Siphon transfer 50% of threat generated to the tank. Generates 1 point into the Blood Vial every second per target.

Will of Darkness- self buff, All death based attacks generate additional threat, All Death based DOTS generate additional threat per tick

Iron Flesh buff-Enables Guard, Increases Base Health, Armor, and Resistances by 35%. Increases threat generated by 400%. Reduces damage done, healing done and absorption granted with non Night Walker Abilities by 20%

Immortal Reign- 2 minute cd, Applies Immortal Reign if the Cleric receives a killing blow, Restores health equal to 25% of the Cleric's Maximum health. Last 5m up to 10 targets within 7 meters of the cleric become confused for 2 seconds.

Blood Bat- Deals Death damage over 15 seconds while generating increased threat.

Dominating Presence- 1min cd last 1hr Applies a buff to all raid or party members that increases their AP/SP by 3% of the cleric's Main stat and Max Health by 2% of the cleric's max health. Damage done by allies under the effect of Dominating Presence builds one Blood Vial counter when they attack once every one second..

Mist Form- 1m cd, Consume 100% of stored Blood Vial Counter to become immune to damage for 30 seconds, the cleric is unable to attack or move during this duration and also heals for 15% of his max health every second. On coming out of Mist Form, consumes Dominating Presence on all party or raid members to transfer 100% of their aggro to you. Also applies a 1 min cd that prevents allies from gaining Dominating Presence for the duration of the cd and prevents healing gained from Blood Siphon for 30 seconds.

exsanguinate- Causes your target to bleed dealing Death damage over 15 seconds and applies an exsanguination debuff which applies a Blood Bat and Blood Siphon as well as one Blood Vial Counter per second over 6 seconds. Applies 3 Blood Vial Counters if the target/s is/are moving.

Storm of Darkness- 10s cd consumes 70 Blood Vial Counters -ST attack that causes your target/s to bleed over 15 seconds ,applying 5 stacks of Blood Siphon. heals you for 50% of the direct damage done. Spreads Storm of Darkness, exsanguinate, Blood Bat, Tyranny of Death and refreshes all Night Walker dots to up to 10 enemies nearby within 7 meters. Generates additional threat per enemy struck

Bat Swarm- 30s cd 20meter range. Turn into a swarm of bats and charge your target dealing death damage and spreading Blood Siphon to three enemies within 15 meters of the target. Each enemy struck generates a Blood Bat which causes Death damage to each enemy struck(damage value-damage value) and Blood Siphon to jump to a new target within 7 meters 5 times striking a total 15 times which.generates 5 Blood Vial counters pet enemy hit.Blood Bats can hit the same target if there are no other enemies in range.

Apex-Passive that causes all death based dots from the cleric to also heal for a % of their damage done, Also causes all bleed effects from the party/raid on the target of the tank's target to apply Apex Predator to the tank, A buff which heals the tank for 2% of the tank's damage done. Max once every 1 second for 20 seconds, max five stack (similar to how Inquisitor and reaver dots are working)

Kiss of Undeath 5 minute cd- Revive a fallen ally as your Fledgling who receives 75% of your max health, up to their maximum health, and switch their guard stat, gaining the same value as the tank. this ally's attacks now generate 2 Blood Vial counters per gcd and place stacks of Blood Siphon on their target with each attack once every second. The Fledgling's Blood Siphon stacks, stack on top of the tanks stacks with a max of 5 additional stacks. After one minute, the revived player's connection to the Sire is severed and they die again, removing their additional Blood Siphon stacks, dealing 25% of the Fledgling max health per stack as ST damage to their target. ( same cd as your normal brez) When your Fledgling is up, this ability changes to Sacrifice Fledgling.

Sacrifice Fledgling- Teleport to your Fledgling's location, Bite and drink their blood which restores 100% of the tank's max health and causes the cleric to become sated for 20s. Making him unable to absorb Blood Siphon's healing effects for the duration of the sated debuff.

Scarlet Preservation-Consume all of your Blood Siphon stacks to Shield an ally, converting 25% of the damage they receive into a heal over time and intercepts an additional 25% of the damage they receive, replacing the ally's Guard with the Cleric's, for 6 seconds. The Guard replacement will only occur on allies who do not currently have Guard enabled. An ally can only be affected by a tank soul damage intercept up to once every 2 minutes.

Unending Poise-Self Buff- Increases base health by 8%

Thirst-Toggle- Causes incoming self heals from Blood Siphon to also restore 10% mana to the Cleric, Blocks Blood Siphon stack gains

Split Arteries-Instant Deals Death damage to up to 10 enemies within 7 meters of the cleric

Heart Seeker-Instant-Deals Death damage to a single target

Iron Wing-3s cd 35m range,Deals Death damage to a single target, Increases the Cleric's Block by 5% for 8 seconds as well as increases movement speed by 15% for 10s. generates additional threat per stack of Blood Siphon on you.

ect ect ect. I could go on and make an entire power set for my theoretical soul but it's just a plead for a new soul at this point.

That doesn't explain away the poor switching capabilities of the druid. To get those stacks you need a long time outside your rotation which makes it horrible for target switching and aligning with raid buffs or using as a burst spec. The stacks shouldn't have a countdown timer in my opinion and there could be an ability that applies 5 stacks on the fly. Outside of applying the stacks you have to apply debuffs and dots which makes it suck for a 1.5gcd melee spec especially. Would have liked to see some of the utility come down in the spec to make it better synergy for other souls though.

-Make Nature's Censure refresh natural weakness on the target.
-Change Crushing Force to 1hr buff that reduces the global cooldown of all druid abilites by 0.5sec and all damage dealt by 15%.

Had a go at it. Please note that my following statements refer to the state of the soul as of me writing this so I don't need to write "atm" every time.

Crushing Force - it's not worth using and it's pretty far into the tree making it a useless ability. Either increase damage or rework to something like:

Crushing Force - Your next Essence Strike, Fervent Strike or Resounding Blow instantly applies 5 stacks of Natural Force and Natural Weakness to the target. 1 minute cooldown.

This would allow for better target switching and far more important syncing with raid cooldowns (as well as an better opener).

Spirit of the Wood - This becomes useless when Conduit of Power is on. Then again all buffs to pets do.

Subtlety - this was the armor penetration buff. My pet still has it. I guess I'll just let it run out.

The mana costs are again abysmal. 3 minutes and I'm out of mana. I realize that Peace of the Forest has seen an significant increase however either make it ogcd or reduce the overall costs. Nothing is more frustrating than having to waste a gcd to get some mana back.

Please make it 1 second gcd as so many before requested and tune accordingly.

Celerity - Reduces your and your pets' Global Cooldown and cast times by 0.25/0.5 seconds.

This rework would also be the perfect opportunity to get EoL back into shaman.

These are my next biggest issues as well, again I'm still testing though, but wanted to post specifically to agree with you on this.

    - Crushing Force is indeed useless. Vex does more damage and you get that for free.

    - Mana cost need to be lower

    - conduit of power trivializes all pet talents. I don't like that at all. It makes me feel like I'm wasting talent points basically. It's not a big enough trade off either. Back to my previous post, I feel the concept sounds cool, but realistically I don't see it working out. Druid is a pet class for a reason, they should use their pet!

    More Suggestions :

    - Punishing strike should refresh stacks of natural weakness, or apply stacks of nature's force. It already applies CE buff and re-applies FW so why not. I mean it's pretty much the go to mastery for melee cleric souls anyways.

    - Give druid 1 sec GCD. It desperately needs it. Please.

    - Make conduit of power a buff that merges druid with it's pet. 10 sec duration, 1 min CD. Give it fancy stuff.

I plan on doing more testing later, and will post more feedback as well.
