    Default Mouse-Over Healing Macro.

    #show Healing Breath
    stopcasting
    cast @mouseover Healing Breath

    Also would like to point out that mouse-over's do work when mousing over someone's avatar not just name plates!

    Just like that and of course you would replace “Healing Breath” with all your other healing spells.

    Enjoy (I know I will)

    Thanks to Phalsadoom for this next part.

    Here is a Guide I found that will better explain RIFT Macro's:

    Macros

    A macro in the context of video games refers to a set of instructions that can be issued together with one input or “hotkey.” Rift supports macroing via an in-game menu. Opening that menu brings up a panel with a list of macro slots on the left, and the macro fields on the right. You can give your macro a name and select an icon for it. You can also have a macro inherit the icon and cooldown timer of some ability using the following syntax:

    #show ability

    e.g. #show Commander’s Order will cause the macro to inherit the icon and ability icon of the skill called “Commander’s Order”

    Macro Commands

    An important component of macros is the ability to issue game commands via text input. A macro generally saves one or more of these commands for future and repeated use. Some the game commands available are below.

    * /saveequip followed by an index number (e.g. “/saveequip 1″)
    o This saves the currently equipped set of equipment to the specified index.
    * /loadequip followed by an index number (e.g. “/loadequip 1″)
    o This loads the saved set of equipment from the specified index.
    * /cast followed by an ability name (e.g. “/cast Motif of Tenacity”)
    o This casts the specified ability. You can specify a target for that ability using special targeting syntax (e.g. /cast @mouseover Commander’s Order) .
    * /stopcasting
    o This tells the game engine to stop the current action and is a necessary intermediate step between chained macro commands.
    * /use item
    o This uses the item named (e.g. /use Blessed Tome)
    * /help
    o This lists the Rift recognized / commands.

    Syntax

    When listing commands in the macro interface, you do not need the leading slash, so rather than /cast, you would just use cast. The following illustrates:

    #show Commander's Order
    cast @mouseover Commander's Order

    Slash Commands

    The following is a list of all slash commands we know about. If you find any that’s missing, feel free to let us know.

    Thanks to Tekhawk for this bit <3

    Important
    /wait
    Was removed from the game

    So here is the information I have gathered from guessing at stuff from other games and some information for forum post and cross referencing them to figure out what was true.

    Useful Commands
    /cast
    /targetlasttarget
    /stopcasting
    /use
    #show
    @mouseover
    /target
    /assist

    Untested
    /focus
    @focus

    Simple target tanks target

    /target @mouseover
    /target @focus "untested"

    Mouse over healing spells

    #show Basic Heal
    /cast @mouseover Basic Heal

    #show Basic Heal
    /cast [ctrl] @mouseover Heal Over Time
    /cast [atl] @mouseover Big Heal
    /cast @mouseover Basic Heal

    Below are versions with stop cast in them to stop what ever you are doing before casting the spell I only recommend this for throwing a instant cast spell like a HoT.

    #show Basic Heal
    /stopcasting
    /cast @mouseover Basic Heal

    #show Basic Heal
    /stopcasting
    /cast [ctrl] @mouseover Heal Over Time
    /cast [atl] @mouseover Big Heal
    /cast @mouseover Basic Heal

    (The above example is showing the use of holding ctrl or alt while pressing a macro key to alter the spell selected.)

    Reactive Abilities

    #show Reprisal
    /cast Disengage
    /cast Reprisal
    /cast Planar Strike

    is it possible to create a macro that casts mouseover when available, if not, casts target next, and if no valid target casts on self?
    ive struggled getting this to work...

    Code:
    #show Healing Breath
    stopcasting
    cast @mouseover Healing Breath
    cast Healing Breath
    There is a toggle for having spells automatically self-cast when you don't have a valid target, I don't recall the option, but its there. There is also one for target of target casting. With those on, it should work as you've requested.

    thanks.. i did think about that, and will definately try it... also, is the stopcasting code necessary... if i leave it out will it simply queue it as the next ability while the current cast finishes? will it keep the same mouseover target at cast time?

    I thought if no valid target it just casted on "self". I could be wrong. But I swear if I didn't have a target or my target was out of LoS I would accidently heal myself.

    You're welcome I in no way was the first person to post this macro anywhere. But figured this would be the best place to share it.

    This is true.
    That is why I usually just heal with mouseover macros, and I don't have spells automatically target self. (I do use the target of target setting, though).

    Ahh, thank you for this! I've been trying to figure this out as occasionally when I am healing using just the raid frames they move around. This shall be quite helpful!

    +1 for pro post.

    I sort of wish they would sticky this and any other helpful threads that will help anyone. That way it stays at the top for people to relize they have mouse-overs as an option.
