    Default Differences between healers

    Hello,

I'm kinda new in this game, and want to play healer Cleric. But i see there is 4 souls, that can be healers. Can anyone be so kind and tell me more about them (pve and pvp aspect)

    Thank you

Warden... AoE healer specializing in dealing with heavy burst damage on a raid.

Purifier... Largely ST healer who while healing focuses on using shields to prevent damage from even hitting the target.

Sentinel...mixed healer. Primarily ST heals that primarily heal in bursts rather than a steady stream (that would be Chloromancer in the Mage Calling.) Also some group/raid heal tools as well. These group/raid tool are NOT enough to make it viable in a raid as a raid healer, however imo it is the easiest of the souls (if using a 61 point build) to heal 5 man dungeons with due to healing breath and other abilities.

Defiler... Not a healer in the traditional sense. Its primary function is having damage transfered to them by links they place on up to 3 players. The damage they get is less than what they absorb. They do have a group heal and some ST heals but they are best served using these heals strategically, such as when you anticipate burst damage on your tank, they are not there to be spammed. You can also dps more than all of the above.

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorius triumphs, even though checkered by failure... than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.

Thanks, and what if i want to level up as Warden, but then heal as a Purifirer? Is there is way to reset my specialisation points? Is it expensive?

if you browse the forum a little, you will see that there are specs made for leveling, full healer in this game is not made for leveling, it's made for healing. you should not ever level up as a healer. it will work in the early levels though.

you can buy subsouls, and have puri, warden, druid, inquisitor, shaman etc separately and switch them arround when you are not in combat.

you will get the first trainer in argent glade, the second portal you should discover in silverwood if you follow the quests. there you can reset your current soul and buy others.

reseting a soul is never expensive, however after you have 6 "roles", the 7th one will cost 900plat. so it's cheap to have 6 roles you can switch all the time.

So you want to say, i can play as a "Lawbringer" for example (witch have Purifier only) and then buy Warden, etc. etc.?

the roles you buy are empty, you pick the souls or the premade roles, it's your choice

lawbringer is a premade, i would suggest something with druid for leveling, the tank pet is awesome for aoe.

A second role unlock is only 30g. I strongly suggest to put a dedicated healer spec on that and a dps/heal hybrid spec as a leveling one. Switching between them is easy anywhere and that what makes Rift great.

A clarification: each role will have its own talent setup and spell placement. You can use the same soul for both if needed.
