Default Inquisitor 1.3 to 1.4 Number Discussion

I've been asked a lot recently how things have changed for Inquisitors. Here are the numbers I got.

All testing done was purely for numbers, not DPS or parsing. All testing was done WITHOUT buffs, which includes no self buffs. All testing was done to assure that neither Corporal Punishment or other proccing items (such as Dark Fist of Nysyr, Darkling Skull, or other such procs) were up during any of this testing. All testing was performed in T1 raid gear setup on live following my BiS list minus a few pieces, and the preordained Cleric T1 raid DPS setup on test (which has slightly less stats)

    Live : Test

    Bolt of Judgement
    normal - 501 : 624
    crit - 954 : 1186

    Bolt of Depravity
    normal - 952 : 949
    crit - 1817 : 1805

    Nysyr's Rebuke
    normal - 270 : 568
    crit - 513 : 1079

    Aggressive Renewal
    normal - 320 : 318
    crit - 608 : 605

    Harsh Discipline
    normal - 367 : 365
    crit - 698 : 694

    Shards of Light
    normal - 333 : 331
    crit - 633 : 629

    Calculating BoD vs BoJ:

    BoJ = 1.5sec cast, BoD = 3sec

    2 BoJs per 1 BoD.

    Live : Test
    BoJ normal 501*2 = 1002 : 624*2 = 1248
    BoJ crit 954*2 = 1908 : 1186*2 = 2372

    BoD normal 952*1.3(counting DoT portion) = 1237 : 949*1.3 = 1233.7
    BoD crit 1817*1.3 = 2362 : 1805*1.3 = 2346

BoJ is in the end, superior to BoD with the 1.4 changes.

    Nice, that's very helpful info.

Did you use the new +200 spellpower stone, or not? That seems like a major change over the current witchstones and should probably be considered part of the changes to inquisitor IMO.

No proccing items were used, not to mention I don't have access to those witchstones on PTS . All data is bare-bones, gear only test.

that would help me pretty much and partially answer the PM i sent u :P

The 36pt talent hasn't changed. I also answered your PM, they are doing equivalent DPS on a dummy, potentially making both viable raiding specs.

As I mentioned to Mathom in my PM, my testing yesterday in Hammerknell gear was yielding 1470-1530 DPS, however I just ran several tests of 51pt Inq again, and am only reaching the 1400 mark. I'm unsure as to what my previous tests had different, perhaps the boss was counting others outside of my group debuffs, or someone had placed raid buffs on me, I'm unsure. Perhaps a stealth nerf while I wasn't looking *shrug*. I'm voting more the latter than the former (I watch my buff bar like a hawk), but more testing will show results... another reason why I'm waiting until 1.4 goes live to write my guide.

In your calculations between casting 2 BoJs=1 BoD is the 1.5sec global cool down included or does it end the same time BoJ is finished casting?

LOL. The GCD starts when you start the cast, so yes it ends when BoJ is done.

It is real. The GCD is over by the time/before BoJ finishes.

    Further observations:
    - BoJ requires you to stand still less, which means you have more mobility.
    - BoJ is not as vulnerable to push back from damage
    - BoJ can proc an instant BoD if you spec'ed for it (I haven't decided if this is a good idea. I have to admit it's hilarious to save an instant cast BoD for WTFVOLLEY on someone almost dead).
    - BoJ does life damage, and thus plays nicer with Justicar

Someone tell me if I'm being ******ed.

Is it worth putting points to giv a chance for BoD to proc as instant?

Yes, of course.. A lot of builds go 51 pt anyhow, so you might not have an option to pass up such a good talent
