Default Noob Question about Duracell build macros...

    Hello,

First of all, I want to start off by saying I am rather new to MMO's, so I am a little confused when it comes to making macros and such. I have just created this build as recommended by a popular thread on the forums here: http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=10...0z.AuMo0z.Vxkb

(For anyone who doesn't know, I found this build here:http://forums.riftgame.com/showthrea...easons-(videos))

I am totally stumped about the macros. Apparently, I can set this up so I only have 2 main keys I need to use, but I cannot figure it out!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

More specifically, how do I turn this into a macro:

    Single Target:

    jolt
    glory of the chosen
    fated blow
    sanction heretic
    strike of the maelstrom
    lightning hammer
    massive blow
    sovereignty
    bolt of radiance
strike of judgement [used over crushing blow for convictions]

That post shows the spells that should be in the macro but is not complete. It should look like this:

#show <pick the spell icon you want to see> (for example, I have #show Crushing Blow)
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast jolt
    cast glory of the chosen
    cast fated blow
    cast sanction heretic
    cast strike of the maelstrom
    cast lightning hammer
    cast massive blow
    cast sovereignty
    cast bolt of radiance
    cast strike of judgment

Also note judgment is misspelled in original post.

You're welcome. Make sure to always add suppressmacrofailures to your macro; that way you don't get a bunch of error messages if a spell is on cooldown.

once I create the macro, I then just hammer the button and it casts the spells for me? Would you be able to explain how it chooses which spells it will cast from the list?

Every time you press the button, the macro will go down the list, choose and queue up the first spell it is capable of doing. Jolt is your hardest hitter, but it can only be used after a critical hit and has a cooldown, so it's not going to go off until those conditions are met. Likewise, Strike of Judgment is your base attack, no matter what, everytime you press it, it will go off. If you move it up the list, the macro will stop there every time, making everything you put after it never come up. Everything in between has cooldowns or conditionals, so they're placed in decending order of importance or damage, so you always use the best thing you can.

    My other Duracell macros are:

    Puller
    #show Vex
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast Glory of the Chosen
    cast Vex

    AOE
    #show Rage of the North
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast rage of the north
    cast jolt
    cast glory of the chosen
    cast fated blow
    cast soul drain
    cast strike of the maelstrom
    cast even justice

The puller macro will cast Glory of the chosen as you're running around, should you receive a critical hit. on my main bar, I have Single - Puller - AOE - Doc of Bilss, 1-2-3-4.

I absolutely love this build, and I hope you have as much fun as I do.

don't put glory of the chosen in your macro, just gonna waste mana that way

One neat trick is to put Glory of the Chosen beneath Strike of Judgment - that way, it will only be cast when Strike of Judgment isn't available. For a global cooldown using ability this would mean never (although I chuck Vex beneath Strike of Judgment so if I accidentally leave melee range I don't have to swap buttons), but for a non-GCD ability like Glory of the Chosen this means it will use it in between Strike of Judgments - which is as close to optimal as you'll get including Glory in your macros.
