Default PvP in the mid-20's. Tanks are destroying me, help!

I've been leveling a baby cleric primarily through PvP as a Warden/Sentinel build and have made it as far as Level 24. I had a ton of fun with it in the 10-20 range, but now that I'm into the 20-30 bracket, I seem to be unable to defend myself at all against DPS Warriors. I can turtle through their damage for a short time, but unless I have team mates nearby to assist me, I go down quickly enough.

For those of you who have PvP'd your way through your 20's, can you give any advice? I'm willing to change up my spec a bit, but I would like to keep as much focus on healing as possible.

Thanks in advance!

Here it comes: Warfronts are team-based objective games.

In other words, try to stick BEHIND your team and heal them while keeping yourself alive.

Or:

Go level up and give the 30-40 bracket a chance.

Default Duracell

I just leveled out of the 20-29 bracket last night. I had most success using the duracell...something along the lines of 12 Just/14Inq/rest sham. It was fun..could heal well enough and had some survivability and AE. Those 29 warriors are gonna kill ya...ain't no stopping it. Just gotta take it and level up.

After I hit 30 last night, I went into the 30-39 bracket and actually felt more effective using that same build. Go figure, huh? Prolly cuz I wasn't getting focused and just left alone. hehe, bad mistake.

I used a Warden/Purifier build. Lots and lots of HoTs continually rolling plus shields which at that level are amazing, and Templar as the 0pt soul for the Break Free. The Warden skill Crushing Wave is nice as well to get them off your back for a second. Can survive a lot although your potential to actually kill them is quite low so you should try to run to teammates if you can. You'll be able to survive long enough to find someone else, though.

lvl 25 is the range where warrior can get heal debuff in champ + SLI.
well the good news is, they won't get more powerful later on but YOU DO.
So please learn to macro laugh to l at them at lvl 40++.

Try throwing 12 points into Justicar.

It'll give you better armor and some instant self/party heals...and some melee ability for when you get silenced.

The only catch is that you need to DPS some to build up convictions...but pairing it with Inquisitor and/or Sentinel will give you LOTS of Life damage abilites to do that with.

As a disclaimer...I pretty much recommend Justicar for everything.

Same way I PvP(ed) also from low levels until 47 where I am now. Works great IMO and one Warrior shouldn't be able to kill you unless hes got some VK and draining your mana.

Self shield + HoTs + Orbs + Healing Blessing + Crushing Wave should buy you PLENTY of time to find a teammate or two to get him off your back.

run before they hit you cuz....

man i feel sorry for the newer generation of pvp'ers. I grew up as a healer playin games where we had no knockbacks, no insta cast spells and no casting bar.... you just lost the spell and couldnt cast if hit by anything. so yeah I learn to jet before they get to me.

theres really not much you can do pre 50 about tanks on you .... just power through

Well, I generally do stay behind my team when I can. Except, sometimes the team is dead and I'm the last one standing. Or, sometimes a Warlord pulls me forward. Or, sometimes a warrior pushes through my MDPS and attacks me instead. Or, sometimes...you get the point. I can't always just stay back and be a healbot. Sometimes your hands just get dirty.

To everyone else, thank you. I tried a Justicar/Shaman/Sentinel build over the weekend and while it did wonders to improve my DPS and personal survivability, I really don't feel like I'm contributing nearly as much to my team that way. I'll continue to look for more of a balance between pure healing and survival/DPS.

There are so many variables while your healing, you gotta just try and not be a target for them (not easy when your pumping out heals). but you should be able to either keep most of your team up, or if they focus on you you should be able to keep yourself topped up even against a warrior. Dont worry about mana just stay alive as long as possible and re-spawn with full IF you die.

best low level survivability is 12 justi and 12 shaman, and macro all the self healing into one button for fast mashing.

When you get used to it the warriors will weep at your feet.

Otherwise its pretty much a grind all the way up to 50, and then you reach prestige rank 4-6 and people start crying again and wishing death on your cleric class and role.

Tried that on my shamicar. Dueled an assassin rogue alot and he owned me everytime. Your healing doesn't help against his stuns and tremendous damage. Only times I did beat him were after going justi/shaman with mace and shield and spamming doctrine like a maniac and eventually grinded him down but this is no fun.

Healing and survivability is a challenge mid 20's. Can try this...

Sentinel (0) / Inquisitor (21) / Warden (14)

Use vex spam for self healing flow
2 Knockback, 1 Snare - macro them snare then KB KB
Bewilder
Debuff macro Purge and magic damage increase

Limited heals from warden (Can do sentinel as well but lose out on the KB from warden but gain an insta cast big heal)

Warden plays more mobile as you can run around dropping some vex spam get your instant hot's up then stop to cast Healing current + deluge.

Even at 20 you can put 5 points into templar and get detaunt (and -15% to be crit). Might as well get in the habit early.
