    Default Justicar tanking weapons?

So what kind of weapons work best for the a cleritank? Basic 1H spellpower caster mace, or a mace with mitigation stats?

Absolutely you want the spellpower. One of the talents in Justicar gives block from spellpower, in addition to our damage and threat being directly related to our spellpower. You will severely gimp yourself if you dont get the usual caster tank weapon.

-Get a 1 hander that has Wis/int/spell power.
-The best Justicar tanking mace pre raid is from the Gedlo council in Expert DD.
-When choosing between similar weapons, choose the one with the highest dps (assuming similar stats) Weapon damage was normalized long ago and it wont matter if you are using a fast caster dagger, or a slower mace as long as they have the same dps.
-A good starting shield to go with your tanking weapon is the oricalcum buckler, it has desirable stats until you can upgrade to the blue shield from CC first boss..

    Hope this helped!

Hands down, the only tanking weapon in game (that I know of) is the mace from DD. And yes, we are stuck using a blue shield until a raid level shield drops, well, in a raid...

    hooray for trion itemazation!..

    /sigh

Until you get the mace from DD you will need the highest spellpower 1 hander you can find with focus.

A Justicar's path is not one of ease. But, hey, we do get to hit stuff.

Thanks for the tips! I suspected that a caster weapon would be the ideal one to take, but just wanted to double-check.

Yup, max out spell power and block. parry is useless since we get like 19% parry in mediocre gear anyways, and hard cap is 20% parry. Strength > Wisdom too, since it gives .5 attck power and 1 block per point, where Wisdom gives .75 attack power and .225 block per point (.75*.3)

The first boss in RD drops a dagger that is better or the last boss in DD drops a mace that is also better, that is pretty much the best tanking weapon until you get the mace from the council in DD. But yes, from T1 that is our tanking mace.
