    Default MMO newb in need of a main class

    Hey,

    I'm currently decieding what my main class will be once headstart begins. I kinda understand the soul system but have no idea how to build the class i want to be;

    Currently i'm looking for a class which is good for PvP, raids but won't be killed really easily. Maybe a damage dealing warrior/rogue who is good with a 2h or a damage dealing archer, one of two i would like to be base my build from.

    So any ideas what class i could make my main?

    Thanks!

    can't have an archer that is good with 2h.

    If you want archer you want Rogue - Marsman/Ranger
    If you want 2h you want Warrior and uhm.. Champion, Riftblade and Paragon i think... some mix of those.
    Are you clueless? Is this your first day on forums? Do you have trouble reading sentences? Then this guide to soul selection is for you!

    If you are struggling to decide on which Calling to play, I would suggest playing all 4 to Level 15, and having a play around with the Various Souls after unlocking them in Sanctum/Meridian (I think thats the Defiant City). Then you can just pick what you like for Release when everything gets wiped.

    Well if you want something that won't be killed easily in PvP and raids and such, then you need to healer. Nice thing about Rift is that you can have different pre-set Cleric roles built that you can toggle with a button press. One for PvP abilities, one for raid support, one for when you feel more like tanking (but still a Cleric), etc.

    You'll probably eventually just want to build multiple roles for each of those situations. It's so easy to change roles there's really no reason trying to make 1 build fit all scenarios.

    joy of this game is you can do more or less everything on 1 character ... just swap your Roles to perform different functions.

    If you're a fan of 2h weapons I'd suggest a Riftblade. They deal magic and physical based ranged damage and can wield 2h weapons. Paired with Champion they deal very respectable damage and have some fantastic PvP utility.
