    Default Gear

Generally the gear progression is crafted>expert/pvp>raid gear. You can use a combination of the 1st three, and farm weeklies, experts, and warfronts for the marks to buy T1 gear. It will be slower than if you were to raid, but it can be done. The base stats on pvp gear are lower than non-pvp gear, but they can be a source for big increases in crit power. Be prepared to switch pieces in and out over time as your gear changes. Be sure to get earrings and a dps trinket, crafted ones will do as a starter.

Farm the necesssary rep for crystals to go with a 4 piece gear set, it is essential. Rep will also allow you to buy progressively better lessers for your planar focus. Rune your gear, it makes a big difference. Remember, the benefit from gear upgrades is cumulative, each thing you do adds to the whole. Good Luck.

I found pvp to be alot less requiring for an individual and gives just as good if not better stuff than experts, I was in the same spot as you a bit ago and pvp has been by far the best way to gear up.

Besides that make sure you do your dailies and weeklys from margle palace/tempest bay for currency that will be needed to upgrade stuff.

And don't forget to do chronicles and if you are into it NTEs too for the currencies moreso than the items dropped.
