Cleric or Warrior PvE Tank?
Hello, just wondering what other people think about this topic, if I'm wanting to be a main tank, and tanking my main role, what class should I go. I was thinking warrior because of the better armor and higher defense etc, but clerics might have AoE Tanking like WoW Paladins, im not sure that's why Im asking you guys haha, thanks a lot

it depends, if you are a cleric tank you can be a tank primary, you just have to make sure that your guild is on board with that. some guilds are biased against cleric tanks and will make them heal or w/e.
i personally think that cleric tanks are more fun than warrior tanks just because the way we tank is kind of unique, generating aggro through small heals and damage instead of just damage only.
another reason that i chose cleric is because when i'm not tanking there are so many other options of roles to fill in a raid, raid-healing, main-healing, dpsing, hybrid roles. however if you *just* want to tank then warrior might be more accepted also, warrior dps is far far superior to cleric dps if you end up dpsing on the side.
i guess it just comes down to whether you want to be a tanking and dps only "specialist" class (warrior) or a more flexible "jack-of-all-trades" class (cleric).
I have a Warrior tank and am currently leveling a Cleric tank. Overall I enjoy the Cleric more, mostly due to the flexibility I have; I can run a tank spec, and a melee spec, and a ranged spec, and an -icar spec for raiding, and if I wanted to I could have a healing spec and try my hand at that. With a Warrior you get tank or melee, and that's it, and just like in WoW the majority of fights are BRUTAL for melee so being able to go ranged for a fight where you don't need an extra tank is a godsend.
Cleric tanking so far seems insanely faceroll (at least as of level 22) - you mentioned WoW pally so to put it in perspective it makes the old Wrath "969" rotation look complicated in comparison. You literally spam one attack nonstop and toss in a doctrine from time to time.
I've got all three Tanks and I have to say they are all a blast.
The warrior has so much variety in how you tank that you can change it up on a whim if you get bored with one mode (though most builds lately include a large portion of Reaver).
Cleric tanking is also tons of fun, and so far I haven't come close to the AOE tank capabilities on my warrior or rogue.
The rogue is a blast too, though it's definitely strange. A lot more mobile than I'm used to in a tank.
With that said it's really down to "What kind of tank do you want to be"?
If you want a strong tank with a lot of variety go with Warrior
If you want a strong tank with very strong AOE threat and some neat tools but little variance go Cleric
(it wasn't on the table but) If you want a tank with a lot of mobility and some very unique features go with Rogue.
