    Post 3 ideeas for Rift souls

    Melee Mage - similar to AoC's Herald of Xolti or maybe WoW's Melee Shaman
    Low survivability
    High damage, most of it AOE
    Uses weapon + low ranged spells (most instant cast)

    Malee Cleric - Monk
    Good survivability (based on dodge/parry)
    High damage, most of it single target
    Limited use of weapons/armour

    Ranged Warior - Engineer
    Good survivability (AC and HP)
    Low dps on attacks
    Builds traps/turrets/energy fields etc for buffs and/or dps

    mage idea is fine.

    Trion will NEVER change the requirements of armor for a specific soul and i doubt they will do it for weapons. That would require a change in a lot of all weapons all ready and its a ton of stupid code. If you want it monk then make it so that they have static DMG and make them bare fist.

    As for the warriors, Guardians don't use tec and If you use the excuse "they can use magic instead" then why wouldn't mages or clerics do it..

    then perhaps an addon will give us a faction specific class

    For the mage you could reverse it. Low dmg high survivability. Make it a tanking mage using the power of the earth for defense (geomancer).

    One idea i thought about for warriors in a supporrtive kind of role would be a totomic warrior. Basically a warrior that brings into thier being aspects of a animal that is one of thier totem beast, each of thiese aspects would change or buff the abilities the totomic warrior possess in some ways as well as giving the warrior a buff to thier stats while maintaining that animal's aspect. Now unlike a druid (ie wow) the warrior does not become the animal in a physical sens, but more he/she takes on their characteristics as well as behavior to a point. Although at higher levels they could partially morph into a humaiod version of tier totemic animal which they have the aspect of up at the time.

    Totem beasts: The totomic beast fall into one of three aspect roles based on what they bring to the warrior as well as to a group sometimes. These roles are as fallows; first is survival, then there is supporet, and lastly is the damage dealing aspect. Each animal aspect brings buffs as well as effect to the standard attacks as well as abilities of the totomic warrior standard ones.

    Ram/stag: This totemic beast is the survival aspect of the totemic beasts granting the warrior who uses it aspect a increased endurance, as well as imposing posture/presencse which reduces the chance a target can hit the warrior. THe attacks of a totomic warrior while using this aspect have a chance to stagger the creature so that it attack much slower then i would otherwise.

    Wolf: THis totomuc beast is the support aspect of the totomic beasts granting the warrior who uses it a group wide ap/sp buff from the pack mentality of a wolf that seeks to mesh with the group to succeed at things that alone he may not be able to increase the energy/magi/power regeneration, also he gains a large buff to thier dex. The attacks of a totemic warrior in this aspect grant a chance to increase the hit and or damage of the group they are in when they crit a creature using thier flanking instints.

    Wolverine: This totemic beast is the damage dealing aspect of the totomic beasts granting them a large buff to thier strength as well as having a chance to deal 150% damage on thier totmic attacks from the raw power and furosity of this beast. The attacks of a totmic warrior in this aspect gaiin a chance to enter a rage that increases thier crit chance while it is up.

    Example abilities;
    Totem roar: This roar ability allows the totomic warrior to bellow forth the roar of his totem beasts which causes the gorup to gain several buffs atributed to the totem beasts.

    Totemic ensight: This iability grans the warrior a buff that is spacific to the currently used totem beast aspect being used. These can be from a hit increase thru an understancing of pack habits, or the ability redirect any amount of damage that was unneeded to kill the target to a nearby creature in combat wiht the totemic warrior.

    Totem awakening: This ability awakens the laatent power of the current totemic beast and transforms the body of the warrior into a humanoid version combining the chosen beast's characteristics to the warriors body. While this ability is active for the duration of it the totomic warrior gains aan increase to their chosen stat based on the totem beast aspect that is being used.
