Default What about a Shadow Knight for last Warrior?

Iam going over the classes in the game. Some seem missing. So what about a Dark Knight type class?

    We have a 2hander specialist,
    Berzerker archetype,
    Holy Warrior archetype,

well what about a Dark Crusader? like the idea or not?

From this I took them to be Reavers

Reavers are warriors who combine the art of combat with the entropic energies of death. The slightest touch of their weapon can spread disease, incite madness, and death to those unlucky enough to face them.

I don't know what archtypes you were looking at but - well - those aren't right.

    Reaver would be your Shadowknight.

Champion is your straight warrior class

    Paladin is your paladin

Beastmaster is your berserker/dps pet summoner.

There will be more than 4 warrior souls/classes, 8+ are planned.

I played the SK in EQ and a DreadKnight in Vanguard - I'd much rather see a soul similar to the VG DreadKnight than the ShadowKnight.
Dual Targeting - The Targeting System of the Modern MMO

If the Lord of the Rings movie trilogy was made by today's MMO designers, the first 8 hours would be condensed into 30 minutes, and the last hour would be stretched out over 8.5 hours. It would be all about 'The Ending' and not about 'The Journey'.

Yeah, I think Reaver - a warrior class confirmed to use disease-based spells - covers the Shadowknight class.

    edit to include source quotation:

yup sounds like the typical shadowknight class to me, reaver just reminds me of dragonage class, which i made most of my warrior types take, and that first time it was fun to have wynne turn on ya.

Am I the only one it strikes as odd that the Reaver is a sword and board class? I've always pictured the evil warriors as more of a greatsword or some other giant 2-hander wielding class, a la EQ/Vanguard.

Some players like the idea that their character could actually cause fear (to the NPC, or even the live player).
This is the reason some players like Dark and Menacing classes.

I don't think any classes I've seen in Rift attempt do that, so Trion will most likely have a good look at it - you know, as a suggestion to the many unique classes of human players in the world like.

I was under the impression that the Reaver was the "dark" sided style class. Though I'm sure there could be room to debate that.

This video from GamesCom is the most recent source of that number. At around the 3:00 mark.

all he says is 8 souls per archetype, since we know not all of them are gonna be in at creation and some are faction specific, 32 per side still isnt confirmed

They've never said 32 per side, they've just said 32 classes (and a couple times, I could swear, specified as 32 starting classes).

And classes are only faction-specific at character creation. All classes are available to both sides to acquire during gameplay.
