Default Macro keeps changing targets, I need an answer please.

Hiya, just a quick macro question. Here's the problem...

(show targets target and cast on targets target both enabled)

    I have the tank targeted,
i can cast all my spells just fine if i click on them or use a hotkey, not an issue.

But the second i use a macro my target changes from the tank to the mob he has targeted and I can't figure out why.

The macro itself works perfectly, but for some reason it changes my target.

I've checked everything that i can think of to check but i don't see a setting that changes or causes this behavior.

Is this just how the macros behave or have i indeed missed something?

And if this is just how they are, is there a work around?

I know it's not the end of the world but it's annoying, and mostly i'd just like to know for sure either way what the cause is.

    Thanks

Having the same kind of issue with healing. Use to be that if I had a mob targeted and hit a heal the mob would remain targeted and the heal would auto hit me. Now when I heal it targets me and I have to re target the mob.

    add
    target @lasttarget
to the bottom of the macro, should fix it.

    Mouseover macros are totally whacked.

    #show Bloom
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast @mouseover Bloom
    cast Bloom

This casts bloom on my mouseover target (or myself or my current target). It used to simply cast Bloom on my target while I had the boss targeted, now when i use that macro, it switches to target myself.

    #show Nature's Cleansing
    suppressmacrofailures
    cast @mouseover Nature's Cleansing
    cast Nature's Cleansing

This would not work on mouseover at all, I had to manual target each person to cleanse the debuff off of majolic in AP.

It's mouseover macros that are totally messed up, I talked to a cleric who is also having this problem.

Its got nothing to do with mouseover, and everything to do with 'macro'.

Any macro abilities will swap targets to whatever you're casting on.

Yeah, i have no desire for the mouse over option i tend to look around and move with my mouse not to mention mouse over for health bars on mobs, mouse over targeting would probably screw me up more then help hehe

as far as the targets@lasttarget thing that sounds interesting, what does that do exactly?

do i have to mash the button one last time to re target? how does that work?

    Incorrect sir.

The macros I listed worked perfectly in 1.1 and 1.2, and allowed me to continue to target the enemy boss as a chloromancer while using single target heals and cleanses without changing targets.

Also, when I cast the macro, it does not target my mouseover target, it targets MYSELF. This is most definitely not an intention of the macro system, otherwise why even have an "@mouseover" command to begin with.

Seems to be working differently for me.

@mouseover macros are targeting my mouseover target instead of actually casting at the mouseover, requiring me to press macros twice.

Try getting rid of the second "Cast spell".

I experienced the same issue when patch 1.3 came out. In my case, while soloing a mob, I would heal myself with mouseover and for whatever reason I would switch targets to me. To fix this, I got rid of the second "Cast spell" line. I found it unnecessary. I also switched to @mouseoverui because it matched more what I really wanted to do.

    The old macro:
    #show Healing Flame
    suppressmacrofailures
    Cast @mouseover Healing Flame
    Cast Healing Flame

    The New Macro:
    #show Healing Flame
    suppressmacrofailures
    Cast @mouseoverui Healing Flame

Check your options. There is an option to automagically target things to 'appropriate' the spell cast. This means if you are casting say Fireball on your friendly neighborhood tank, it may cast on the target of the tank, or just randomly target something to aggro for fun (oh yes...it knows what you don't want to pull!).

Check to make sure that option is UNCHECKED, then try macro a time or two more to see if this resolves it.

No smart targeting or whatever it's called is not selected.

Also, i tried that "targetlasttarget" thing...
Well it kinda works in that you would end up retargeting the tank.

The only problem is it constantly flickers back and forth between targets which is both irritating and slightly nauseating. hehe

Unless this is a bug, I fail to see why this is even an issue.

Trion lets me cast on my targets target
    Trion lets me use macros...

Anyone not making this leap of logic with me?

    Its a lot easier:

    cast @targettarget "whatever"

I'd probably take it a step further and amend the "New Macro" to be:
    #show Healing Flame
    suppressmacrofailures
    Cast @mouseoverui Healing Flame
    Cast @self Healing Flame

Just need to ensure the "autocast on self" is disabled.
I do not suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Only problem with your macro is it will never cast on your current target, so selecting the tank as target, and using mouseovers to heal, your macro will never default to your target. Obviously it is easy to account for, but leaving auto cast self enabled and taking the last line out is more flexible.
