Well, I guess it really comes down to what do you enjoy the most? Also, you can have multiple roles to mix up any class, so I think it just comes down to preference. I am more a ranged type of player and I love magic so I tend towards mage class. I enjoy the other classes also, but most fun for me is mage.

What type of class do you end up playing on more? That might help you some.

    good luck!

    Default my specs

rogue damage (solo)- Bladedancer/nightblade/assassin(0 points spent)
    rogue support- bard/nightblade/?
    rogue range- Marksman/ranger/assasin

    warrior tank- paladin/warlord/reaver
    warrior 2h dps- champion/riftblade/paragon
    warrior solo- paragon/beastmaster/champion

    mage support- chloromancer/archon/?
    mage single target-pyromancer/elemental/warlock
    mage multiple target damage- stormcaller/elemental/pyromancer

    cleric tank-justicar/shaman/?
    cleric dps (solo)- shaman/justicar/?
    cleric heals- purifier/warden/sentinal

these are the specs i use the most. the souls are in order of what you should focus in so for example, rogue dps, most points would go in blade dancer.

I have four level 50 toons, one of each calling.

Of the 4, I think the warrior is least fun simply because it has less versatility. You dps or you tank, that's about it, and humorously, it seems there are more varieties in tanking specs than there are in dps specs.

My next least favorite would be the mage. It at least has more versatility than the Warrior, but it suffers from similar drawbacks in that it is very streamlined into specific builds.

Rogue and Cleric are my favorites. Both offer several role options, variations on those options, and don't get streamlined into specific builds to play them effectively.

I chose what class to play (cleric) based on what was in demand on my server (healers). Also as a cleric you can do many different things well. If you like dps you can play a druid/shaman/inquisitor which does competitive dps. There are lots of healing builds good for different situations. You can also play a dps/healer hybrid such as an inquisicar. I wouldn't recommend clerics if you don't like to heal at all, since sometimes people will want you to heal, especially in pvp (if you're into that), where you will almost always be healing.

This site is awesome! It takes a bit of time to complete (129 questions) but it offers some valuable insight. It also has a range of answers that are similar but inherently differ in motive. Be honest when completing them; this is your character after all.

Really it depends on your mood.

When I'm feeling like an *** I'll jump onto my Doublebubble Troublebubble Mage to just frustrate the hell out of people who think I'm squishy and should die easily.

When I'm escorting friends in WFs I'll go DPS and not really focus on winning, but utterly destroying whatever decides to look cross at my buds.

When I want a quick win and easy daily I'll just fire up my cleric.

My warrior on the other hand has not seen a WF in 2+ months, and the SLI change perma-shelfed him for now because he lost the burst needed to get clerics down.

One thing it took me a while to figure out - play one of each class and don't delete 'em. As you get higher in levels, you can choose whatever callings you like and hand-tailor them.

    My choices, short and sweet:

    - I loved the rogue assassin / blade dancer or assassin / nightblade classes for a very long time. They're just not as fun for me anymore. They are very, VERY equipment-dependent and their best moves can be countered by most novice players.

    - Cleric is my absolute favorite. Mainly because I enjoy versatility. I don't get much time to play so I love the fact that I can queue up a dungeon as any role (although I choose not to tank because I'm personally better at the other three). Ranged aoe DPS is a blast in solo PVE. I think they kill slower than some mage classes, but there is no downtime and no pet (having a pet annoys me). Melee dps / support in raids with the so-called duracell build is a blast.

    - Mages are a blast to play, although most of the specs I find fun are still quite squishy. Haven't gotten mine to 50 yet though, so that can DEFINITELY change.

    This is what I got:

Chaotic Neutral Human Fighter/Bard (3rd/3rd Level)

    Alignment:
Chaotic Neutral- A chaotic neutral character follows his whims. He is an individualist first and last. He values his own liberty but doesn't strive to protect others' freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and challenges traditions. A chaotic neutral character does not intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To do so, he would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from himself suffer). A chaotic neutral character may be unpredictable, but his behavior is not totally random. He is not as likely to jump off a bridge as to cross it. Chaotic neutral is the best alignment you can be because it represents true freedom from both society's restrictions and a do-gooder's zeal. However, chaotic neutral can be a dangerous alignment because it seeks to eliminate all authority, harmony, and order in society.
