Default Please recommend an easy class for solo questing, farming and rifts.

    Greetings,

Iím looking for a class with relatively simple mechanics for solo questing, farming and rifts, any recommendations?

    Thank you!

Much like in other games, I'd imagine the easiest route for soloing is to go with a pet class. Those would be Ranger (rogue), Beastmaster (warrior), Druid (cleric), and Necromancer (mage). Mages also have Elementalists, but the Necromancer/Warlock combination seems to be better for the solo grind for most people.

That said, I'm not a fan of pet classes. I leveled my warrior as Riftblade/Reaver and I'm leveling my rogue as Bladedancer/Assassin and my cleric as Inquisitor. None of them are terribly difficult. Play what you are good at or more importantly what you like. What use is an easy-to-level character if you don't like it when you're done leveling?

    Edit:
For farming the ultimate might be a SC mage or Inquis/Cabalist cleric. I also can farm huge numbers of mobs on my Reaver/Pally/Warlord warrior. But... those are the AOE-intensive specs and as such may not be viable until mid-to-late game.

That is probably the best farming spec out there.

Soul respecs and multiple rolls my friend.

Pet classes are always great, if that's your sort of thing.
The last character I leveled I did a Cleric as Shaman/Justicar/XX.
1 Button macroable, great dps, tons of survival and infinite mana.
Can AE just as easily as it can solo elites.

So if you prefer to be petless I'd say try that.
Maybe he just wanted to steal our wire cutters. You ever think of that?

    Yes.

One of the best parts of rift right now while you are leveling up is having a leveling spec, a dungeon spec and a pvp spec. Depending on your calling and what you like to do these can all be vastly different. Level 50 add a raiding spec and change leveling to farming/grinding if you need to.
You can't stop stupid you can only hope to c...o....uh...n?.... Nvm you know what I mean!

There's another that covers leveling in more detail, just search the cleric forums.

Beyond that, yes a rogue set to Ranger/x/x will do fine, just not as fast.

I think rogues are best for solo specs. 21 points into Assassin gets you unlimited stealth (including no speed penalty if you want) plus the ability to basically knock out a mob without agroing it or breaking stealth. This is superb for both questing and for harvesting nodes/artifacts.

What you include with Assassin is up to you. Many use ranger, I'm partial to Bladedancer/Bard myself. The only problem is if you solo doing nothing but questing you'll probably start running out of quests eventually because you're skipping over so many mobs.

any DPS Cleric build with 9-12 points in Justicar
    or
    Necromancer/Lock mage build

But I have to agree with earlier post.
You have to level what you want to play at 50. What good is it to be stuck with a level 50 you don't like?

    This. Simply put.
Having leveled all 4 archetypes now,
I find the Duracell cleric to be the easiest class, soul setup and talent specc I can find.
2 buttons, no downtime, no brain required.
