    It's shocking, though not unexpected, to see that the changes being tested on the Alpha server are what we asked for in most cases all along. Small changes because that's all that were needed: a lot of things in the past weren't really overpowered but got nerfed into uselessness.

    I see the tiny changes to Pyros and I can't help but say "I told you so." We've seen Gersh and his team pulling out earth-moving machines to sculpt what amount to dirt piles.. but when it comes to the solid-rock mountain that is the Pyro (and mage, in general), out comes a tiny little chisel.

    Cool, Gersh, keep the favoritism up. Every time there's been a major bug causing something to be "too strong" we (the community) have asked for a bugfix, and as these were LEGITIMATE BUGS, we wanted hotfixes. What you responded with was a "fix" for the bug plus a MASSIVE nerf. When we have a legitimate balance issue that is NOT the result of a bug, we ask for a balance patch (and a huge nerf, in fact) and what we get is a bandaid which doesn't even address our concerns. Really? I told no fewer than 10 non-Rift playing friends who are heavily experienced with MMOs and PvP in general what GoS does along with videos of what they do to R5 geared TANK SPECCED PLAYERS. They all said they'd never subscribe because something like that was even permitted to be put into this game. Not kidding, it's so blatantly overpowered even conceptually that it makes people swear that they will never touch this game. Yet it looks like this kind of brokenly stupid idea is here to stay.

    I am furous bro. Not a madbro.

    And before the troll begins, I did never one say saboteurs were overpowered. I said they had bugged **** (and they did). I never once said champs/bms were overpowered, merely that things were not working as intended. The only calling I have ever said in such a vague statement as "X is overpowered" in general is mages. And the only specific soul I've called out as blatantly overpowered is Pyromancers.

    We have a truly overpowered soul that is being "slightly fixed." Brilliant!

    Because CC has very little impact on PvE. Half of the CC in this game could be removed RIGHT NOW and it would not impact PvE but in the slightest of margins. It would DRAMATICALLY shift PvP towards closer to balanced.

    Spike damage is a bad idea. So is complete immunity to CC, and so is excessive CC (esp. offensive and disabling CC) given to a class with ridiculous spike damage. It's a perfect combination of overpowered.

    Making one soul (pyro) imba was a huge mistake that ruined warfront experience for many. Hope they won't do the same with 1.2.

    If we follow 'precedent' they will be 'balanced' in one year... in all seriousness, is there at least a cd on the skill... I'd be ok with the tank turret immune to everything if it took some time to recast GoS.

    Alpha changes contain more buffs than nerfs.

    Why is this never brought up by the doom and gloomers? Or did I just answer myself there?

    Anyway. How about waiting and seeing the result. So many buffs to other soul/classes could very well play into the result of pyro balances.

    a post with nothing that make things go forward, there is a million posts about pyromancer and in each, someone explain why the damage is so high. There are suppose to figure out something for GOS in 1.2, simmer down furious bro

    Meh, once they're out of GoS they're about as squishy as a dps warrior, minus the dps... VKs and necro/chloros will **** them out... sometimes in, bad players are bad no matter what class they play... but they do need a cd on GoS (currently a 1+s recast, sidenote: unless you trait in the Arch tree), it makes dispell absolutely useless against a good pyro.

    I agree, unfortunately most of the 'buffs' I'm seeing aren't geared towards my playstyle... range (even in warrior souls).

    Also, it looks like the synergy with Dom will get 'toned' down... definitely wait and see at this point.

    The simple fact is the OP is right. I was actually gob smacked at how OP pyro's became. I literally couldn't believe my eyes when I was becoming 2 shotted without even being able to activate my instant cast heal due to their improved GCD reduction cd.

    I'm rank 3, with all the dmg reduction moves, and being 1 shotted was still possible. And yes they can still do it without red ball by getting lucky with a few crits. The fact is why should I have to be at 100% health constantly in order to feel safe against a Pyro?

    Gersh feels a slight nerf is all that is needed.



    And pyro's complaining about PvE? Do they really think this one soul out of many deserves an improvement as PvE is priority over a broken PvP system? Sigh..

    As a stormcaller i could almost live with pyromancers damage.. But that the fire class has a better slow than the ice class? That the pyro class has STUNS, when the LIGHTING mage does not ? That they have 'bad' survivability? its a 400'sh hp hit for a big damage boost that SC's do not get, and they have two damage absorbing shields that make up for the hp loss 3 fold. Then they get a better snare, and the best mage break out skill. Its just so wrong ><

    I do not have a mage and not sure I will ever roll one as I have always played tanks. But looks to me from what I have seen on all the post that the pyro soul seems to be strong in pvp and okay at pve. I am sure all the classes have one soul that is more geared towards pvp. Also if you get the pvp souls, I would think with the points in it, it would lower the damage from the pyros?

    I am still learning pvp in this game so looking for more info on this.
