Trion Devs; Mind chewing the fat off the record about RPG character fundamentals?
Ok so with RIFT's incredible amount of freedom when it comes to the development of our characters, there's some confusion as to how our callings should preform compared to how they have traditionally been. Off the record I'm curious what the developers of RIFT hold as their common core values regarding classic RPG characters such as the warrior, cleric, mage, and rogue.
Feel free to pick any one of these topics to discuss about:
What makes the calling "feel" like you're playing that calling?
Do you feel callings should stick to a general perception of what role that calling plays in a RPG?
What disadvantages to callings suffer in order to benefit from their natural talent (I.E. what cost do mages pay in order to cast ranged magical spells)
What calling do you feel best represents you in real life?
