    Default How does "Silence" work?

I looked around for an answer to the questions but couldn't find them.
What does "silence" actually do? What is it's technical definition?
Does it work when being cast on any class type?
Does it affect a Bard's motifs?
    A Riftblade's spear abilities?
Does it only affect abilities with cast times?
Is an ability with "melee" range immune to silence or is it only one that states "does weapon damage"?

Also does silence interrupt a spell that is being cast?

Silence seems to interrupt and stop all cleric abilities, even melee based must have a weapon abilities which are also subject to the (very few) disarm abilities in game. Which doesn't really make any sense but there you go.

Silence stops all casting, even casting already in progress. It'll interrupt and black out casting skills. That's the simplest definition. The hazy parts are what "casting" includes.

    Yes it stops Riftblade Spears.
It stops Cleric Melees as well.
    Probably Bard Motifs.
It'll stop a mage dead if they're affected by it.

99% Sure it stops essentially all Warrior abilities

and since white damage in the game is a joke, Silence affects Warriors as much as it does Mages
It's not a damage meters fault you can't hit a certain dps and others similar to you can, it's the fault of your bad gear, bad spec, or bad rotation. So stop getting mad at the meters and invest some time into not being bad.
