    People are getting all flustered about about various classes' burst damage potential etc.

    It's understandable, but imo is not the main issue.

    The main mismatch for me is that some classes can operate at close to maximum potential by mashing a couple of macros again and again.

    Other classes need a dozen or more hot keys to be effective.

    It is simple: a class which need a couple of dozen hot-keys is at a phenomenal disadvantage. It makes all other issues pale by comparison. Classes which require a combination of skills building to a grand finale are far far harder than classes which manage with 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1.

    My appeal is this: when balancing classes, consider that button mashing classes have an enormous, and I mean enormous, inherent advantage. An advantage worth hundreds of dps.

    Fundamentally, mash mash mash will always beat a complex rotation of many interlocking skills, especially at this point in the game.

    Couldn't agree more

    So much more of an even playing field without macros.

    But even so, macros or no macros, some classes can get by with far fewer skills than others. And they will dominate in pvp.

    I played a resto shaman for years and had an **** ton of abilities to use, and I did fine. But I also consider my skills to be far above average.

    While I do agree that macro's that allow 11112111121111 spam should not exist; any player with skill will be able to use (situationally) all of their skills to gain the upper hand.
