    Default Just another day...

The cold wind was blowing from the east, but to the lone rider on the mechanical horse it meant nothing. The chill in the air and the overhead clouds suited this necromancers mood. Looking over the landscape she caught sight of a hound and realized she was low on hides.

'Time to resupply my stock' thought Seltara while flicking the reins of her steed. The gears turned willingly and the sound of metal clanging slightly together could be heard. After a quick ride the kelari quickly dismounted and eyed her prey with a critical eye. Waving her steed to the side Seltara used the dark magics that had become such a part of her to summon forth a skeletal knight. Smirking slightly she watched as the summoned creature crawled its way out of the ground.

The hound not so far away lifted its head at the sound of the ground being moved. Immediately it saw the necromancer and ran towards her.

Not giving the hound more than a fleeting thought Seltara directed her minion to dispatch the approaching hound while searching for any other close by. Stillmoor after all was a place where the hounds were plentiful.

Snarls and the sounds of slicing reached her ears. Seltara looked toward the battle and saw the hound was almost dead. Negligently to hurry along the death she cast a spell that would hasten the creatures demise. A loud yelp then the silence returned.

The minion stood silently awaiting its next command. Pausing to make sure the area was relatively safe Seltara grabbed her skinning knife and swiftly took the hide of the hound. The carcass she left for nature to take care of.

As she finished with her task, the sky darkened and in the distance she could barely make out the call "To Arms! Zarephs Return is under attack!"

'So they have arrived...it was only a matter of time.' Seltara quickly motioned for her steed and jumped up into the saddle. She didn't bother dismissing her minion. She would make use of his bones soon enough...

Azael grinned, long hair flapping in the chilly wind. As the Knight of Mathos charged him, Azael slid into a stance that allowed him both offense and defense. With a battle cry, the knight swung his mace, shield flowing into a ready position as well. Azael lifted his spear, twirling his wrists deftly and disarming the man. "That could be a problem," Azael taunted, nimbly avoiding a shield bash. The Elf made eye contact with his foe, and suddenly the knight collapsed, gibbering in fear. It appeared that Azael had forced some sort of terrible hallucinations to take over the poor knight's mind. He never even registered the change between life and death as Azael struck his throat with his spear.

A horn sounded from far off, towards Zareph's Return. "Mmph?" Turning slowly, Azael pinpointed where the camp would be on his map. Starting off in that direction at a steady jog, he let out a bellow. "Yvareld!" As he ran, a najmok pulled about even with him.

"There you are, took your time." The najmok grunted, lifting himself onto his hind legs and beating his chest. "Yes, yes, you are intimidating indeed. Let me on."

"Hmph," Yvareld grunted, but obeyed, landing on his fists and letting the elf slide on. "Well, let's go."

And so it was Azael rode on the najmok's back, spear in his right hand and held out to skewer those foolish enough to stand in his way.

That made nine, so far, and still counting.

The rapid thud of mechanical hooves sounded as Seltara urged her steed to hurry. A rumble sounded behind her and quickly glancing over her shoulder, Seltara saw the ground moving behind her in direct purpose. 'Spirits be flamed! I don't have time for this!' She pressed her steed even harder. The rumbling had gotten louder and up from the ground an unnatural gray worm with teeth at least a foot long in a gaping maw opened to take a bite of her.

Jumping from down from her horse and taking a tumble Seltara just managed to get to her feet when she saw her minion had already engaged the worm. A horn again sounded, yet it was closer and if a sound could be more urgent sounding it did. Grinding her teeth in frustration Seltara cast a spell that would cause the worm pain and disease for the inconvience it had caused her. A sickly green glow surrounded the worm and small parasites from the spell could be seen digging their way through the worms tough skin. Summoning her horse to her Seltara mounted again, leaving her minion to keep the beast distracted. She took off leaving worm and minion behind.

After a few minutes ride Seltara saw Zarephs Return. She also could make out creatures running for the encampment. Creatures of the plane of Death. 'Death..this I know all too well.' she thought as she urged her horse right to the robed minions of Regulos.

    (( It's open.))

Azael slid from his najmok, replacing the spear and drawing a sword and a dagger. "Oh, how dreary. Death invasion." With a low snarl, the Elf charged into battle, pitch black hair whipping behind him; his hair was adorned with sacred feathers found from a rare breed of bird. It was a feat of strength to even get those feathers, and a testimony of faith and courage to wear them so proudly.

"Death to the dead," he quipped, charging towards an abomination. In a bound, he was there, a sword deep in its chest.

"Azael!" "Over here!" The Elf glanced around, not sure who to aid or where to go. Finally, he decided on going towards the quartermaster, who was cornered by an undead, necromantic in calling. A few stabs later, Azael was absorbed into the bloodlust of battle, ready to continue this with anyone who came near - Riftspawn or Defiant.
