    Cool The Vigil

How many gods are a part of "The Vigil", or was that intentionally left unspecified? It sounds safe to assume that none of the members of "The Vigil" were also a part of the Blood Storm at any point? I almost question Life's presence in the Blood Storm, as that wouldn't seem very "baleful" at all.. Clearly there is more to the story!

EDIT: I probably should have entitled this, "The Vigil and the Blood Storm", instead

I believe 5 according to the page about the Guardians.

"The Guardians represent the sincerest belief that the Vigil, the five gods of Telara, have not abandoned the world,"

Nice! Now the question is, do these five gods ALSO represent primal elements of the universe in some way, and if so, I could only assume that it would be every element except for Death, which seems to be solely within Regulos' realm?

I would be guessing the same. Death, Fire, Water, Wind, Earth? By these powers combined this is Telara?

If there's a Vigil, which represents the five life elements, then are there rival gods?

Obviously, death could be considered a rival. However, there's the two dragon gods. Could their be fighting amongst the gods, which explains why the rifts are not being sealed, but actually opened further? Stay tuned for next time!

Honestly. There's just not enough information yet to come up with a basis. Trion needs to get a writer to come up with back stories and such as EVE Online has. They offer quite a bit of role play material to the game and gives it a more filled out feel.

Maybe it's more like the imagination of Greece gods who are like a "family" which is fighting and being nice again intern.

I'd like that since this would play perfectly with the random events. Random dispute between god a and b?
    Well..let there be war.^^

Granted I haven't read that much about the lore yet so I could be totally off.

But anyway, I don't see why Death would have to be evil. I see it as just another elemental force. Water - Fire, Earth - Wind, Life - Death.

And since the Blood Storm is made of Death and the Elemental Gods that leads me to belive that the local gods are something different than elemental forces. Different virtues maybe?

I also don't see why death has to be evil.

And I agree that it's unlikely that the Vigil would have the same elemental associations as the Blood Storm.

The tiny bit of information we have about the only named member of the Vigil doesn't point to them being elemental either.

Yeah, there's nothing to suggest the Vigil are tied to the elements. They are just gods who created the world from what we've been told.

I put this stuff up on Telarapedia if anyone wants to read or contribute.

The fact is, however, that this death is evil. Regulos is the God of Death, and he also happens to be the Big Bad throughout the game.
