    Default Statues in Doughtlands

So I was mentored down to help a guildie in the Droughtlands, and I came across an area I had forgotten about, with 2 statues standing near that I don't remember ever having seen before. Obviously, they have something to do with the Eth, since most things in Droughtlands do, but I don't remember them. Anyone have any info on them?

I don't have any info, but they've always been there. I suspect they were the guardians on the road to the zone that Trion never released.

Not sure about that, those statues don't seem to have any correlation to Planetouched Wilds really, I think it's something relevant to The Vigil and Guardians most likely. It's probably outdated by now though

Most likely just fluff to make the zones barriers look cool.

Obviously the statues of Eth, and MAYBE it was designed with the Eth leaders in mind (sorcerer kings), but I imagine it was more "Oh this will look cool along the mountains" more than anything.

Isn't there also one of these on an island right off Smith's Haven in Freemarch?

There is, yes. I was swimming around that whole border the other day, exploring it. Those statues, and the zone (Planetouched Wilds) they are around, caught my eye for a couple days. I know they've announced they have no intentions for that area any time soon, if at all, as they are focused on exploring the planes at this point. But it was fun to see them and wonder for a while.

Just to clarify, the area is called Planetouched Wilds, however the proper name for the region is Cliffside Vale, it is where the Bhami settled when they showed up on Telara, but then had to flee because that region fell to the rifts.

Though that is all we know about the region since it was never fully developed and released.
Though some of it's intended content ended up in the SL zone Cape Jule, I believe.

Though I will continue to bug the developers to make that zone regardless, and Port Scion, and Shadowlands, and Shi-Ming.

Since Rift launched that area has never been known as Cliftside Vale, it is Plane Touched Wilds. Any other names are not cannon.

Captain, is there a way you can address whether or not it's also the Bhami "homeland?" Since we're now currently engaged in the Plane of Water content, I imagine at some point we'll visit the Plane of Air. I suspect that will be full of Shalastiri lore (as well as Crucian lore). Any chance that this area might be opened, then? I think it would be super interesting to perhaps help the Bhami reclaim their home, as an introduction to the expansion, then move on to the Plane of Air from there, to help the Bhami reconnect with their ancestors (and of course save Telara and that particular plane from whatever menace has showed its ugly face).

Just a fun bit of story that occurred to me the other day when I was thinking about this area, and swimming around it dying from fatigue damage.

Bahmi are totally due for some love. I can't promise that they will get that in our next big update. But I can assure you that when we talk about future updates I bring up the fact that the bahmi have been largely ignored due to the circumstance of where the expansions have been set.

Plane Touched Wilds also sits there on our maps as a big grey area that we would love to grab a quarter and scratch it off to see what's inside. It is the homeland of the Bahmi and the Rhaza'de Canyons. I can't make any promises about when we'd ever get here either.

Thanks Captain. It's pretty cool you engage in some of these conversations with us.

My favorite races in game have always been the Eth and the Kelari. The Kelari got pretty-well filled out on Ember Isle. I do wish there was a way to get more info on the Eth, but I'm not sure exactly how that would fit into the game, considering I'm talking about the ancient Eth, not the current ones. Exploring old ruins and finding out stuff about ancient civilizations has always been a favorite idea of mine (Droughtlands has always been a favorite zone of mine because of this).

The Bhami stand out, however, because they are such a unique race to this game, as they are the only ones that originated from somewhere besides Telara. They weren't created by the Vigil, and they weren't part of the original plan the Vigil had for the world. It would be fun to see them fleshed out a bit more, and find out if maybe the Vigil's plan for Telara had to be changed because they are here.

These statues, by the way, just scream "Eth" to me. I think it's why I got so excited about the zone they're surrounding.

That'd be awesome if we did get there. At least one time in ten of me passing through the Droughtlands, I try to find a way to get in there. No luck yet, but I still try!

(The same goes for actually reaching the tower at Bahralt's Ascent in Moonshade. I've gotten REALLY close before getting bampfed away.)

can we please be able to ride a water rift from draumheim into the planetouched wilds? I just want to be on the delivery end of a rift for once.

That would be neat! And yes I'd love some Bahmi love as they are my favorite race!
