    Default Best mages: Eth or Bahmi

    First of all, i must say i'm a roleplayer. I'm coming to Rift after playing ultima online in the past decade.
    That said, i have to "feel" the class...
    What race fits best the roll of a defiant mage? Eth or Bahmi?
    I like the idea of a Bahmi mage, but they don't look like warlock / necromancer stereotype...
    Thanks in advance for any insight!

    The Eth having been sorcerer-kings might fit the bill the best, but then the Bahmi seem to have the most interesting culture.

    Eth hail from a nation of sorcerers.

    Bahmi are air planars that got busy with the natives.

    Bahmi have that racial leap though...

    Bahmi strive for honesty, temperance, and excellence in everything they do. You won't usually see them doing the more 'evil' or questionable roles, though this isn't absolute (see: Uriel). Eth strive for intelligence and power, so they'll do whatever leads them to more of both, but tend to be more focused on magitech rather than pure magic.

    The best mages are likely the Kelari.

    Now available: Telara, as seen through screenshots of varying quality.

    IMO it goes in this order (though in lore ALL the races have places for ALL four classes, and btw as an Ascended it is less about your race and more about your Ascended power to draw upon OTHER Blood Storm War heros' skills):

    Warrior:
    1)Bahmi
    2)Eth
    3)Kelari

    Cleric:
    1)Kelari
    2)Eth
    3)Bahmi

    Rogue:
    1)Kelari
    2)Eth
    3)Bahmi

    Mage:
    1)Kelari
    2)Eth
    3)Bahmi

    ~~~~~
    Eth:
    1)Mage
    2)Warrior
    3)Rogue
    4)Cleric
    Kelari:
    1)Mage
    2)Cleric
    3)Rogue
    4)Warrior
    Bahmi:
    1)Warrior
    2)Cleric
    3)Rogue
    4)Mage
    But again, all races fit it everything in some way, even if it is smaller (like Eth clerics).
    For mages (not counting Ascended powers that go all over, but how the MORTAL races can deal with these powers), Bahmi can be honing their innate heritage to the planes (but they would still be rare), Kelari are channeling the power of elementals/spirits (commonplace), and Eth would be utilizing their study of the planes and magical technology into a tool of skill (uncommon but prominent).
