Default Quest: Fooling the sages and A Worn out welcome.

Both are in scarwood reach. before you get to the sagespire there are a lot of shatterbone cultists. there is supposed to be an item from the Shatterbone Couriers that gives you the quest when you pick it up. Its called the shatterbone report, and gives the quest fooling the sages. You turn the report into sasha, which is like the main quest giver when you get to the sagespire. And after competion sasha is supposed to give you a quest called a worn out welcome where you go and investigate who the person in the shatterbone report is. Ive also heard there have been issues with this quest as well but it doesnt matter to me yet.

i cant seem to find the shatterbone report, i have spent hours killing couriers at my max lvl and with mentored down to 33. Ive killed all shatterbone, and only couriers. and spent plenty of time doing both. the courier itself hardly ever drops. its always followed by two escorts. the escorts drop grey items and crafting materials regulary. but the courier almost never drops even a worthless grey. So im wondering what am i doing wrong here? Id like to finish this quest just for the sake of completion. Using quest finder addon it says i only have 3 quests remaining in scarwood reach. and i still havnt recieved one of those quests from one of the head sanctuary guard npcs, like kain. that is supposed to lead me to the next area to start the next quest line. so im wondering what am i doing wrong here? What zone is after scarwood reach, it just seems like it ended abrubtly and with no clue as to what we have to do next

yeah it hink you might be thinking about the note you pick up when you do the quest that has you disguise as one of the cultists after killing a few of each and gathering bits of their uniform. thats not the quest im thinking of. from everything i could find online this fooling the sages is supposed to be a drop item pick up quest thingy from the couriers. but like i said i cant get it to drop. ): do you if there is more then one note? if you are for sure about this?

Did you figure this out yet? It used to be (I know this for certain) that there was a 100% drop rate for the Shatterbone Report from the Couriers. That said, there are a lot of quests in RIFT that have prerequisite quests that are not listed as such on any of the databases and there are some that can't be picked up if you have some other particular quest in your quest log.

Just out of curiosity - the likely prereq quest to this, if there is one, is Tower Defense. Have you completed that quest?

I can't seem to get either of these 2 quests to pop. I've completed ALL the other quests in the entire Scarwood Reach region except these two

IS there a special prereq I'm missing for them? I've only found 2 npcs in the tower that have a 'Visiting Scholar' in their name (as if it was there 'guildname') and they just say something when I click on them but I can't interact with them.

My addon "Quest Finder" says that I still have two quests to complete in Scarwood Reach BUT I'm starting to come to the conclusion that the 'Fooling the sages' and 'A Worn Out Welcome' quests no longer exist for the Guardian's faction. On two guardian characters that I created (warrior and rogue), I have gone through ALL the quests below that are given in the 'Sagespire' area of 'Scarwood Reach' and have killed tons of 'Shatterbone' cultists of ALL types in that area, but the "Shatterbone Report" that is supposed to drop to be able to start and complete these two quests *NEVER* does. When I try to talk to any of the three 'visiting scholars' in the tower (Jintal Rao, Vanti Cavelton, Ralek Knikalev) at any time they all say the same thing: "I am honored that the monks of Sagespire have allowed me such an open access to the knowledge here". None of them ever says to follow them or attack you afterwards (of course I haven't gotten the drop, so that is why).

    Quests given:
    1-Sasha Nikadon-On the books
    2-Eminia Andre-The open door
    3-Eminia Andre-A temporary solution
    4-Sasha Nikadon-Tower defense-spawned from quest 3
    5-Protector Rysilver-Endless correspondence
    6-Protector Carah-Scouting the opposition
    7-Protector Rysilver-Among the endless
    8-Protector Carah-End the endless
    9-Eminia Andre-Sealing the portal
    10-Pavel Apostol-Draconian measures
    11-Zerin Golek-Rare berry collection
    12-Protector Rysilver-An academic matter
    13-Zerin Golek-A healing extract
    14-Sasha Nikadon-The long, dark watch

    ===

Has ANYONE completed these two quests recently as Guardians or knows whether they are now defunct and no longer available?

    Default Quest: Fooling the Sages

I have researched as much as I can find, which is extremely limited, on the internet and the forums. I cannot find this dern report. I have lost count of how many couriers I have killed on all the servers. NO drop of this report. Is it still current or has it been discontinues? I do not know where to go from here. Please, RIFT, help. I have been her for hours.

I'm trying to complete these quests after over a year being in this zone. Using Completionist to find old quests that I supposedly haven't done yet. However, I remember having done something like this in this zone, and I'm beginning to suspect the add-on is wrong. Does anyone else have this feeling too?

Would be really nice to have an in-game tool that tracks your progress, or allows you to double-check completion of quests. At the very least, the "complete X many quests in X zone" in the achievements should be our reference point. I.e. If there are 100 quests available in the zone, then, to get the achievement, you have to complete the 100 quests.

Following this thread in case anyone else has any advice. Cheers!

In case you are still following this thread Gwed, these 2 quests are bugged, the "Shatterborn report" simply does not drop so these quests are not able to be completed. There are enough quests and carnage quests to complete the achievement for the zone. The rare mobs in the zone also count as "quests" for the achievement so you may want to track them down.

    Good luck Thunder
