How long will the Valentine love bugs last?

There has been a pretty clear lack of communication about this event. Is it a permanent thing? Or just for today? I hope it's permanent because I'm not sitting in Sanctum for 8 hours to get it done (really disappointed that it only works in sanctum).

I think that depends on your server. I've been sat in Sanctum since yesterday inbetween raiding, PVP and doing daily quests and still only have 20/50. I click the buff off myself as soon as I'm hit. Problem is that you need 50 individual people to cast it on you and most are just AFK with their buff left on and doing nothing. I should hopefully get this done in time, but it's certainly not a short amount of time.
