    Default the end of the world event was total anti climax

    Dont want to sound ungreatful 1.8 brough some good content but

    The delays to the end event adding more weeks gave me hope there would be a good end to this world event, Today I login and its gone, all the epic quest line completed and awaiting collection lol No mount'S for the effort just a crummy pa level?

    What an anti climax to what seemed like a long world event lol to me its looking like Trion are running out of ideas, Wheres the end content like there was with the opening of ROS with alsbeth entering ROS,

    My memories of 1.8

    1. Epic quest line full of bugs and then auto completed
    2. ID full of issues wings opened then locked bugged bosses thats still got issues
    3. Fishing and Survival Thumbs up no major issues

    Overall feel a little let down with 1.8 and im hoping 1.9 is better, With Guild Wars 2, Diablo 3, Tera, Secret world, all around the corner You can not be complacnet and think online players will continue to sub this poor showing

    I like this world event more than most because I think they tried to change it up a bit and do something a little different so I can deal with the things that didn't quite work.

    The epic quest line was awesome. Every major world event should have one of these. I still remember the first time I went to face Bouldergut with a couple of friends thinking it would be easy like everything is, only to get face crushed horrifically. That was great. I want more of that. At the same time the Parcels quest was frustrating and there were a few opportunities.

    I'm not sure what I think about ID. There are going to be bugs regardless of who tested anything, but I was more sick of everyone arguing aver who deserved to test, how unfair it was, and world firsts more than I was annoyed with ID itself. I do believe the instance was made a little too easy which is disappointing because it continues the recent trend of catering to the lowest common denominator which is not really a good thing

    Fishing and Survival are both great additions and I look forward to seeing more added on to both.

    Personally I absolutely loved the World Event story line chain including the rewards. After completing it I earned myself a load of PA levels, Planar Conqueror level gloves, a T1 raid level weapon with an ID model and I got a companion pet!

    I thought all of the quests were interesting (though Parcels Through the Cracks was poorly implemented) and I found them highly enjoyable to do; all of this despite the fact I am a largely solo player who had to scrabble groups together from generous friends and 50 chat.

    With regards to ID I cannot comment as this isn't content I have experienced nor will I get the chance to experience for many months.

    Fishing and Survival were indeed both great features, well implemented and I look forward to seeing how Trion expand upon them.

    I dunno if I'm alone here but I got to Connecting the Dots and my response was "are you frickin kidding me" followed by dropping the questline. Running around a grey zone where things still aggro to hunt down 20 easy mobs is easily the worst quest design I've experienced in Rift, outside of maybe the Death saga before they patched that up.

    I liked the fact that the World Event took place in a variety of zones including some lower level ones rather than simply being stuck in the top zones. Whilst I did manage to solo these mobs I don't imagine everyone would find them easy.

    I don't really understand how this can be an example of "the worst quest design ever" simply because it takes place in a lower level zone and you think the mobs are easy. That seems like a fairly minor complaint to me.

    I could relate a little if you had brought up points such as as the lengthy respawn time, the small number of mobs or the limited number of spawn locations considering the number of players trying to complete this quest but none of those you mentioned.

    At least this makes a change to the "Parcels Through the Cracks" complaints - variety is always nice.

    Infernal Dawn = no idea, as I haven't done it and may not for a while. Seems ok? I'm not a hardcore raider, so I don't care about very high difficulty. ?/5

    Fishing and Survival = waiting to see about this. Fishing itself is at least 'better than WoW', but I hear Survival is lackluster. ?/5 (

    IA, Ember Isle = I'm in support of this stuff. It's rarely 'fantastic', but it IS at minimum nice to see in any zone (a large party of players running into the area you're in while questing, fighting a big lore-related enemy of of nowhere... that's cool!). 4/5 (a feature like IA can never be a 5/5, but it is still nice to see)

    Guild Finder = I see no problems with it so far and I'm very glad it was implemented. 4.5/5

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~
    World Event Rewards = 3/5. IMO they are quite nice, and I could actually afford everything I wanted from it. I'm just grinding for Gold, Glorious Gold now. The vanity stuff is ok, and the essences were very helpful for my character. The other rewards were instead put onto the questline...
    Questline:
    Phase 1 = It was ok, but MAJOR issues with a couple of the quests. Harlan's Lament... ugh...ugh. 3/5. Bouldergut is awesome though! Breath of Maelforge is silly but a nice Phase 1 reward I like to use it.
    Phase 2 = Basically good but wow, was that one quest ever bugged. I was one of the lucky ones. 2.5/5. The glove reward was nice for non-raiders (or soon to be raiders), as it was included in the T1 synergy set! Thanks Trion for that!
    Phase 3 = LOVED IT. And I like the last quest especially. Venturing into Ember Isle with a group to save Cyril? Ooooooo. Hints of what is to come in Rift's story are good to see in a World Event, and I'm very much in approval of this. 4.5/5. The gun is awesome, but I can get better weapons now so... WEAPON WARDROBE. I'm keeping the gun just for weapon wardrobe, and I insist it come in ASAP ;)
    Suggestions:
    1)Reduce tedium whenever possible. People grinding events for...machine parts? And its STILL 'bugged'? That's just one example. The one for expert dungeons was really good though, as it also gives the side rewards that..come from expert dungeons.
    2)Weapon Wardrobe so I can actually use the gun reward..... I mean, what are T2-T3 raiders supposed to do with it?
    3)I like world event questlines, but I worry about them just 'disappearing' after the world event. I'd suggest they be designed to fit the overall story (or the quests adjusted to fit it, after the world event itself), so the content is always available. I wouldn't call them a 'Wanton Maw Saga' or anything (please don't...), but still have a way to access the quests. I'd even create a 'World Event Quests' subsection of the 'World Events' tool, to keep these quests 'existing'. This isn't currently possible, but I suggest it for the future.
    I am just about to embark on the Parcels part of the quest-line and am already dreading it do to all the mentions of super low drop rates.
    As a means of getting re-energized...does anyone have a link to a list of the end result items of the quest-line? I am not sure if there is not a complete guide out there or my Google skills are low.
    Thanks....
    Sorry I don't know... but I know you get a few PA levels, Breath of Maelforge vanity item, aT1 glove item, and a T1 weapon with a cool fire effect. Oh, and Keko, the wonderful earth jeweled Ember Isle spirit pet
    I posted a full list of rewards from P3 of the World Event storyline quest and that can be found here.
    With regards to the other phases:
    P1 - Breath of Maelforge vanity item.
    P2 - Planar Conqueror level gloves.
    Both of these include a large number of Planar Attunement levels and Molten Gold Ingots.
    I loved the story quest line of this event, even though the execution was a bit rough it's a great way to absorb the lore and feel like you're actually participating. My only real complaint would be the lack of items for purchase using Molten Ingots--weapon enchant, aura (that is too similar to the earth one), and an essence. Slim pickings.
