Story quest Investigation not working or bugged?

In the quest log for the story quest Investigation it says to Collect Invasion Orders from Major Fire and Earth rifts that would grant experience. The last 4 Major Earth rifts I have closed on Ember Isle and Shimmersand (so both would grant exp) have not given any Invasion Orders.

Is it possible this quest is bugged or are you required to group up to receive the Invasion orders?

Anyone else having this issue?

I had a similar issue. I found it worked if i opened the major rifts myself. Might be something bugged about the whole thing.

I'm a little behind on this quest and just started working on it.
I've been clearing major rifts in the Akalan Dunes, have cleared about 4 majors and not one order has dropped yet...

this, using major fire rift lure solved the problem

opened 4 major fire and earth rifts ourselves and it didn't drop any orders...BUGGED...

Bug too:

we tried to use fire/earth major opener on Ember island and Akalan dunes.
We tried to follow another group
We tried to close already opened rifts

None works (we were 4 from a guild and then 5 from the group research).

The quest, Invetigation, is broken. No Invasion Orders are dropping off major Fire or Earth rifts, whether I am opent he rift or a guildie does. Please fix soon!

Same here.. just opened 3 major fire rifts using fire lure in shimmersand that grant experience, closed them and none of them dropped any Invasion Orders. Either this is bugged, or the chance to drop is very low - either case it needs a fix!

and just closed the 4th, this time in Stillmoor... no Invasion Orders... frustrating.. about to give up.

And to make things even better, the new quest (much easier) requires you to have completed this one.

Please let us drop investigation and get the new one at least!

This quest is still broke. Not getting updates at all on multiple characters.

You can only complete the quest by closing major rifts with six stages. Five do not work. Use your regular planar lure, not any PA lure, on any major tear in the dunes of akala

That sounds like a pretty good definition for "broken" to me.

Update:

I have been able to get the Invasion Orders only from major earth rifts in Dunes of Akala. If i opened them myself i did not get any Invasion Orders.

If you close at stage 4 you get 1 Invasion Order

If you close at stage 5 you get 2

If you close at stage 6 you get 3

I was able to solo most of them and close at 4. Got my remaining 7 Invasion Orders. I think the new update messed something up, as i used to get them before from major fire rifts and in other areas, which I am no longer able to do. Only the above worked after the update. Good luck guys.

Yeah I'm just skipping those. Not worth the headache. I closed 2 two days ago and didn't get credit at all, even though one of them got to stage 5.
