    ...Really?

Look, no PvP event forces you to PvP (At least on a PvE shard -- PvP shard, you get what you signed up for). You can still play the game without doing that PvP event. That PvP event does not permanently populate the zone, forever prohibiting PvE zone events from happening. Work around it for the short time it is active. It does not force you to PvP, it does not force you to stay in that zone, and it damn well doesn't keep you from playing the PvE side of the game.

    So...Basically...Yeah, stop QQing.

Nobody is forcing you to pvp. You choose if you are going to participate in the event or not. There is one event that occasionally spawns in Stillmoor or IPP and you are acting like it starts 20 times a day and you are being forced to go to the zone and participate. I dont care if its a pvp or pve server this game does need optional content for the pvp players, and optional does still mean you never have to do it if you dont want to.

Couldn't agree more, optional not forced

+1 zaros for finding another place in the forums where pvp qq is found.

To OP: no offense, just impressed there's another forums to put pvp woes.

Edit: also everybody else, Zaros just stands out more.

The pvp events you're talking about are hardly zonewide and occur in a very contained part of the zone; even then it's an Op-in event. You can still continue questing and queuing for instances.

Come to Seastone, we all PVE and are one big happy family. We don't let PVP interfere with our PVE fun.

So do these events flag you if you come near them, or are they just impossible to participate in without flagging, or what?
You can play WoW in any MMO. You don't have to play WoW in RIFT. Oh, and no, RIFT is not a WoW clone. Not having fun any more? Learn to play, noob! I don't speak for Riftui, but I moderate stuff there. Got ideas for improving the RIFT community? Feel free to PM me. Just came back? Welcome back! Here's what's changed. (NOTE NEWer URL)

If you attempt to participate (attacking spawned NPCs, touching banners/sourcestone), you're flagged.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing these events stay in the ZE rotation, but from the perspective of them stopping other ZEs from spawning, yes, it can be problematic if you don't PvP since trying to do it so PvE ZEs can spawn sooner may mean getting your butt handed to you a lot. Fortunately, you'll still get IS, EXP crystals, and weekly quest credit from this, but even on Faeblight (PvE) there are a few PvP "enthusiasts" who always seem to be there when I see this event pop and aside from taking advantage of some OP class mechanics, don't really help with trash talk or whining if they wind up getting zerged.

Does this respect the disable-auto-flag setting?

Because if not, that's sorta nasty to do to people who can't easily know in advance.

Wait a minute, there's PvP on a PvE server? That makes me ponder on another question, if there are zone events on a PvE server how can they PvP? Or is the PvP become automatic? I remember asking a question long time ago on how does a PvP Rift even work on a PvE server. I forget the answer.

Thank you for also sharing the Secret World MMO that does look interesting. I may have to give it a try if I remember my Funcom account. Remember Age of Conan? Yep I left that game for Rift LOL

Yes it auto flags you, eve with the auto flag turned off.

Frankly I hope it just doesn't become the norm. This last 10 days have been really boring with all the pvp events popping up all the time. I don't mind pvp, and do warfronts a bit, but world pvp is just no fun... that's why I'm on a pve server.

The NPCs have the little faction logos by their heads and, well, if you click on a strange banner that's not normally there, you kinda deserve what's coming. But yeah, just go hide for 5m and you're back to normal.

Like I said, though, I'd be okay with this one sticking around to occasionally show up for some added ZE variety, but I'd also like to see Hammer and Flame go DIAF.

You know, that's kind of funny... because the 3 or 4 times I've gone to do one of these and my autoflag was turned off... I couldnt' attack the npcs. I had to do /pvp to turn it on before I could actually attack them. I think there is a little box in settings.. that you might want to look more closely at.

You know what really gets ME butt-hurt? All this pve on pvp servers. I hate it. Killing mobs, grinding hours on hours when I hate it? Trion better do something about this or I'm going to QUIT!

You have your settings left on default.
Go into your settings then combat, there should be a box with PvP auto flag.
Tick that off and you won't be flagged again.
